Mihkel Rand

Hello there! I’m Mihkel—also known as Dhelian—a fantasy map artist from the idyllic shores of rural Estonia who has been somewhat obsessed with staring at maps from a young age. Maps have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, as even in kindergarten, I was already creating strange rudimentary maps of the epic battles that were raging in my head.

Much of my love for fantasy worlds and their maps can be attributed to the Lord of the Rings and various video games such as The Battle for Middle-Earth—which remains a phenomenal game even to this day—and grand strategy games such as Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis. Even while I’m resting my hand from drawing maps, I still stare at them as my primary form of entertainment.

As a worldbuilder myself, I have always been in need of good maps for my worlds and so I kept developing my artistic skills until I eventually realised that I could put the knowledge and capabilities to good use by offering my services to other writers, gamemasters, and anyone else who might want a bespoke map for their precious world. The first commissions I did were in 2020 and since then I’ve had the pleasure of working with various creative writers and worldbuilders, contributing to their projects with my personal art style.

If you’re interested in learning more about the writing that I do in my free time, check out my main worldbuilding project, Lethea, over on World Anvil. If it’s a map you’re after then please use either the contact form or email me directly at randmihkel@gmail.com. I’d be glad to help you out!
